Juli 2002 19:55 Dear Harvey, Fortunately, there are far more than "only a few active investigator/writers contra the big H" (your words Harvey). But, since you still rely upon the IHR Journal as to what is going on in revisionism land, you could not possibly know that. Even a short but invaluable book review by Bob Countess appeared only in German in Germar's Vierteljahreshefte fuer Geschichtsforschung and not in the IHR Journal. How has Germar Rudolf done it? He has had enormous personal, legal and financial problems--and yet, he has achieved what Weber and Raven could never have achieved even if they had all the Farrel-Edison money without any legal battles. Just glance at any issue of VffG for yourself on the internet if you don't have a hardcopy available. The differences are like day and night even if you can't read a word of German. Any mere glance at any issue of VffG quickly shows an enormous difference not only qualitatively but QUANTITATIVELY as well. That comparison should give you some idea as to how bad a job the IHR has been doing. Many of the writers--and there are dozens of excellent writers for VffG--cannot even read German--and yet their research and works can be seen there but not in the IHR Journal. I had given up hope for the IHR years ago--but hope blossomed again when Ted became editor. Now through various acts of what appear to be purest treachery, Ted has been fired in effect and the one board member who appeared smart enough and interested enough in making some real changes has been pushed out as well. You and Jack Riner seem to have been in complete agreement with Robert Berger Lynch's proposals for the IHR one day--and yet, two days later you not only changed your mind but even went far beyond all bounds of decency by insisting upon Robert Berger Lynch's removal as well. In disgust, Lynch resigned and who can blame him. When you insisted that Lynch resign, you should have done the right thing and resigned as well since you had agreed to all of Lynch's proposals just a few days earlier. Mark's incompetence as an editor, even if most people will be too restrained to say it, is obvious enough to all writers who have ever submitted material to Mark for inclusion in the Journal. Mark is an obsessive "rewriter" and not an editor at all. He is either incapable of understanding or unwilling to concede that editing someone's material means leaving the substance and bulk of the material intact--but improving it consistent with the author's intent and at most with relatively small changes, not to the substance at all unless there are clear substantive errors. Since Mark by his own admission is totally incapable of comprehending even the most basic technical argument or evidence, he should have kept his fingers in his pockets whenever technical issues arose--but no, over the years he has meddled there as well or excluded technical subject matter completely from the Journal. The fact is that most of the important arguments against the hoax are TECHNICAL--and so, for that reason alone Mark should exclude himself from any future consideration as an editor or as a director of the IHR. Figure head directors just don't help get the important work done that is still waiting out there. In any event, the last word about publishing any essay should be left to the author whose name appears at the head of any published article. Although the issues I have raised here are based on some very personal experiences, they pertain to the functioning of the IHR in general. You and Jack Riner still have the power to outvote Mark Weber and "fire" him. That simple act is long overdue and will go a long way to making the IHR a meaningful "Holocaust revisionist" organization once again. Ted should be reinstated as quickly as possible since he has clearly been the most valuable worker by far at the IHR for nearly a decade. The growing number of writers and researchers into the great hoax are desperate for good outlets for their work. They need those outlets to stimulate them and make their struggle worthwhile in spite of the often great personal costs. Our work is far too important for the future of all of us to be obstructed endlessly by the likes of Weber. Germar Rudolf can not do it all. Since the IHR used to be a meaningful outlet--it seems only logical that it should continue to try to be useful, especially now that the struggle with Carto is nearly over. But if you and Jack Riner continue to be merely dummy directors for Weber and Raven (and let's not kid ourselves about that--you have been a pair of real dummies), the obscure end of the IHR is inevitable. Board members are supposed to direct, that's why they are called "directors" and together they are called a "board of directors." Officers and employees are supposed to submit to the board--or get up and go. It's all up to you. Hope you get off your butts, Friedrich Paul Berg P.S. Years ago, when I submitted my answer to a foolish nine-word challenge from Robert Faurisson, I insisted that there could be "no changes to my text, without my approval." I certainly welcomed improvements in my text which always has room for improvement--but I insisted that the very last word before the material went to press had to be mine. This was intolerable for Weber who has repeatedly made numerous changes--often of great substance--in people's work without their permission. Raven added to the silliness by repeatedly telling a number of people that I had insisted there could be no changes at all in my text without adding the words "without approval" in his accusation. Clearly, Raven and Weber had tried by taking my words out of context to make me look ridiculous. This occurred even after I had explained the facts of life to Raven in writing after I had caught him passing his silly accusation to the Polish Historical group who happen to be some of my personal friends. When Raven made that same outrageous charge at an actual board of directors meeting in 1994 in which you participated, I called Raven a "goddamned liar" and I meant it. Weber knew perfectly well what I had actually said to him and why--but Weber's love of truth never extended far enough to correct Raven's ridiculous misinformation.
