Is Deborah Lipstadt a Self-Righteous Zionist Hypocrite?
By Paul Grubach, July 2005
Dear Dr. Lipstadt:
As most of us know by now, you have written a book concerning your battles with historian David Irving and the world famous libel trial in 2000, entitled HISTORY ON TRIAL: MY DAY IN COURT WITH DAVID IRVING. Within the Jewish-Zionist community and the mainstream media, you have become a "heroine" and spokeswoman for Jewish-Zionist causes.
The book is highly important for a number of reasons, among which is that you express a predominant strain of thought on a number of issues, like alleged "anti-Semitism," Jewish issues, the race question, Holocaust revisionism, Israel, Zionism, etc., etc. Let it suffice to say, your book is chock full of fallacies, hypocritical double standards, contradictions, false claims, bad logic, and the like. And guess what??? Yours truly will be writing a thorough critique of HISTORY ON TRIAL that hopefully will be widely circulated.
In order to give you a good idea of the gist of what I am trying to say, consider the following example. On page 5, you proudly point out that in your youth you worked to create a racially integrated, multicultural society here in the United States: "My mother and I marched in Harlem in solidarity with the Birmingham-Salem civil rights protesters. We took a vicarious pride in the fact that Andy Goodman, one of the civil rights workers murdered in Mississippi, had lived down the block from us and we always pointed out his building to visitors."
Indeed, throughout the entire book you condemn any non-Jew that is critical of ethnically integrated, multiracial societies. For example, on page 236, you write: "This extremism, which was rooted in a loose alliance between national conservatives and radical extremists, was hostile to multiracial societies..."
Yet, you have made it perfectly clear in the book and elsewhere that you, Deborah Lipstadt, most passionately identify with the Jewish State of Israel--an ethnically/racially segregated society that actively works to ensure Jewish Supremacism and to destroy any chance of a multiracial society from developing in that area. Elsewhere, you have written: "We [Lipstadt and her fellow Jewish Zionists] know what we fight against: anti-Semitism and assimilation [of Jews with non-Jews], intermarriage [of Jews with non-Jews] and Israel-bashing."[1]
Just recently, an important Israeli official made it perfectly clear that it was a goal of Zionist policy that Israeli Jews in Jerusalem are to be segregated from Palestinian Arabs in order to make certain that Jews remain the dominant element in that city, and that the ethnic/racial character of the city remains predominantly Jewish. In the article's own words: "Israel's separation barrier in Jerusalem is meant to ensure a Jewish majority in the city and not just serve as a buffer against bombers, an Israeli Cabinet minister acknowledged Monday."[2] This clearly contradicts your publicly stated policy of favoring ethnically integrated, multiracial societies where all ethnic and racial groups function as social and political equals.
Why the contradiction? That is to say, why does Jewish-Zionist Deborah Lipstadt favor creating ethnically integrated, multiracial societies in the United States and Europe, yet she most passionately identifies with the Israel—an ethnically segregated state where Jewish dominance and supremacism are the order of the day?
Enter Professor Kevin MacDonald, an outstanding scientist that you attack in your HISTORY ON TRIAL. Professor MacDonald pointed out that Jews favor ethnically integrated, multiracial societies outside Israel because societies such as these foster and nurture the long-term Jewish policy of non-assimilation and group solidarity.
MacDonald observes that Jewish organizations view white nationalism as their greatest potential threat and they have tended to support Black-white integration policies presumably because such policies dilute Euro-American power and lessen the possibility of a cohesive, nationalist Euro-American majority that stands in opposition to the Jewish community. In a racially integrated, multicultural society with numerous different and competing ethnic groups with divergent interests, it is very unlikely the surrounding gentiles can ever develop a united and cohesive majority to oppose the very cohesive Jewish community. "Tolerant" gentile populations that have only a week and feeble sense of their own racial/cultural identity are less likely to identify the Jewish community as an alien element against which they must defend themselves. Gentile populations that have a strong racial/cultural identity are more likely to identify certain groups of Jews as alien outsiders, against which they must compete with. Thus, a racially integrated, multicultural society (outside of Israel) is the type of society that most Jewish-Zionist groups prefer, because in such a society they can gain tremendous power and influence.
And here, Dr. Lipstadt, is (I believe) the real, ulterior reason for your expressed hostility to Dr. MacDonald. He has (I believe) exposed and laid bare the real mainsprings of the contradictory and hypocritical Jewish behavior that you exhibit—and you find this too painful to consciously face.
In your book, you quote British intellectual Sir John Keegan's criticism of your character: "Prof Lipstadt...seems as dull as only the self-righteously politically correct can be. Few other historians had ever heard of her before this case. Most will not want to hear from her again (p. 282)."
Deborah Lipstadt, take a hard and honest look at yourself—do some soul-searching Prof Lipstadt. And you may come to grips with the source of your hypocritical Zionist behavior.
All the best,
Paul Grubach
